I felt that i needed to research what other artists had done with the spirit animals .
Iain Macarthur has taken the spirit animals and overwhelmed them with american indian inspired patterns . The detail is amazing. To further this research i am going to find out what each animal symbolizes and try to create an equallt detailed and overwhelmed illustration for each animal based on what the indivitual spirit animal symbolizes .

Iain Macarthur has used an ink pen to apply the ink onto the paper .He has used different thicknesses of pen nib so he can applie refined pattern and so he can add variety .This piece inspires me because it is all made up of Amercan Indian Pattern . To take this research further i would like to make my own illustrations based around The Aztec patterns from my research and the American Indian patterns aswell , i think i may also experiment with the media i used to illustrate also .

The Artist has made a hoodie from his illustration but all he has done is transfer printing it onto the hoodie . I think he could have came up with a far more creative and interesting design to the jumper. He should have incorporated some of the pattern onto the sleeves to make it look like more consideration has been taken into the application of the illustration .
